Today at STYLEanthropy, I’m sharing my thoughts on the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Spring Collection. I received a couple of products from the makeup line, and I’m sharing a video of the products, my thoughts, and me trying out the colors too. Oh, and did I mention I’m giving away some products from the line? Well, go on and read below to find out. I know you want it!
Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Spring Collection Review
Previously, I shared with you my thoughts on the UD x Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow palette that came out first. You can read that first, if you haven’t. After the success of that eyeshadow palette, UD followed up with more products and released the UD x Gwen Stefani Spring 2016 collection. It included:
- 8 Limited Edition Lipsticks (2 exclusive to urbandecay.com) – $18 each
- 6 shades of 24/7 Glide-on Lip Pencils – $20 each
- Brow Box – a brow kit – $30
- Blush Palette (not included in this review) – $45
Watch this video below and then read more details about the products and more thoughts I didn’t include in the video.
UD Gwen Stefani Limited Edition Lipsticks
I gotta say, these limited edition lipsticks are amazing. I mean, for $18? The price ain’t bad at all. Other brands are priced $30 and up. So yeah, if you want to splurge on these, go ahead!
They apply so easily because of the super-creamy texture from their proprietary Pigment Infusion System™. Urban Decay Cosmetics also included in this collection, their very first-ever shade in a finish that they called the Mega Matte – super intense matte that packs a lot of color even in a single coat. The 8 shades in this line are as follows:
- Ex-Girlfriend – sheer nude rose with pink shimmer, it’s a perfect feminine and flirty Spring color.
- Firebird – deep fuchsia cream color, it’s a very versatile shade that will go with florals, brights and blues for warmer seasons, but will go well with jewel tones, gray hues and deep shades come fall and winter.
- 714 – bright red mega matte shade, this red is a pretty bright one that feels like it has orange undertones to it.
- Rocksteady – deep wine red cream, a gorgeous deep wine color, perfect for a night out or just when you’re feeling a bit sultry!
- Spiderweb – satin red cream, not included in this review.
- Wonderland – dark pink-red cream, almost looks like 714 from a far, but this has pink hues in it. If you don’t like the bright red, get this instead.
- Phone Call – sheer bright pink, exclusive to urbandecay.com.
- Plaid – sheer deep berry, exclusive to urbandecay.com.
UD Gwen Stefani 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencils
These lip pencils are game changers for your lips. Like the lipsticks, these glide on pretty well, probably because it’s packed with Vitamin E, jojoba oil and cottonseed oil. There are 6 shades in this line and they match the 6 shades from the limited edition lipsticks except for the Spiderweb and Plaid shades.
The lip pencil is $20 each, 2 bucks more than the lipsticks. So you’re probably wondering, why is it more expensive? Well, this isn’t just a lip liner to define your lips, guys. You can use this to fill in all over the lips. So it’s like having a lip liner and lipstick pencil in one. But, if you’re not really a lip liner girl, then you can always go the lipstick route too!
Like the rest of the UD Gwen Stefani makeup line, how can you not fall in love with a packaging like this?
Lip Color Swatches
Now that you’ve seen the lipsticks and lip pencils I received, let me swatch them for you and show you how they look when worn.
I apologize for the variation in lighting below. I have been trying/testing out a ring light I recently got. The other photos didn’t have the ring light turned on, but at least you get to see how the shades look when worn.
UD Gwen Stefani Brow Box
Finally, the last product that I received is the Brow Box. Guys, it is the cutest thing! It’s a palm sized brow kit that comes with mini brushes, a mini gold tweezer, wax, compact mirror, magnified mirror and two brow powder shades. For $30, I’d say this is worth it. You know how much other brow powders and brow gels cost, right? They can range from $10-$25. But this one comes in a compact box with all the bells and whistles. It has a gold tweezer. Dying!!! Seriously, Gwen Stefani thought about every last detail and I am so impressed. Even the mirrors in all of the compacts/palettes have a text that says “Magic’s in the Makeup”. Way to go Gwen, way to go!
As for the shade though, this works for light blonde to dark blonde hair. So unfortunately, since my hair is pretty dark, I wasn’t really able to use it. One thing you need to know when thinking about getting this kit is that the shades were specifically created just for Gwen Stefani. So if you have a similar hair color, then go ahead! You can also blend the two shades together to get the right shade for you. As long as you’re within the light blonde to a light brunette range, you can use this brow box kit!
Look how tiny this brow box is! I put the lipstick next to it so you have an idea how small this thing is. It’s perfect for traveling too!
