Today at STYLEanthropy, I’d like to share this makeup look with blue eyeliner! Wait, what? I know what you’re thinking or probably doing – cringing! Are we to return to this blue eyeshadow from the 80s? No way, Cris! But hear me out. I know some people say blue eye makeup isn’t for everyone. But with the right proportion, styling or occasion, who says you can’t rock blue eyeliner?
Blue Eyeliner Makeup Look
Earlier this Spring, blue eyeshadow was trending. And yes, it ain’t for the faint of heart. But what if you can tone it down a little bit and use it as an eye liner instead? That’s what we’re gonna do today. Whether you like a sky blue, bright blue, deep navy or something glittery and sparkly like mine, a subtle way to wear the blue is through lining the eyes.
I used the Urban Decay Glitter Eye liner in blue. Just line your top lash line and make it a little thicker to let that color show through!
For the lips, I used a hot pink shade. This one is Urban Decay Firebird. The pink and the blue is just so fun for a night out or any fun occasion. But if you want to tone it down for a more casual look, you can try it with a nude or a mauve color. You can also use a deeper blue for your eyeliner and pair it with a deep red or wine color – great for Fall.
Now line the water line with a black eye liner to define the eyes. Smudge it a bit with a brush for a smoky/air-brush effect. You can also just use a black eye shadow to line the bottom waterline like I did. I used the darkest shade, Black Market, from the Urban Decay Naked Smoky eye palette.
Don’t forget the lashes. I used Urban Decay’s Instalush faux lashes. I only used the partial false lashes so it’s not too overpowering. I just apply it on the outer end of my lashes.
That’s it. You’re done! I already did my face makeup and eyebrows prior to doing the eyes and lips. Just use your favorite foundation, contour, highlight, setting powder, and your eyebrow makeup. What do you think of this fun beauty tutorial? Will you try blue?
I love that the blue and pink combo pops up when wearing a black dress. It can be great for either a night out, or to have dinner with your bae!
