Hey friends, ready to pack your bags and head to Magnolia Market at the Silos in Waco, Texas? We visited the popular Silos end of March. We took lots of photos and finally, I was able to narrow it down to a handful of photos. Or maybe a TON of photos because the place was just too pretty not to share every little detail! If you’re a fan of the hit HGTV show, Fixer Upper, or love Chip and Jo Gaines, then this place is a must-visit! Here’s my travel guide and photo diary from our recent trip to the Magnolia Market at the Silos. Enjoy! Oh and P.S. this is not a sponsored post. I am just a HUGE fan of the couple, HGTV, and their TV show!
What to Do?
Hang Out and Play
The lawn area right in front of the Silos is so nice and clean. Lawn games are available. Pretty black and white striped bean bags are also perfect for just watching the kids.
I totally apologize for this photo below. Dogs aren’t supposed to be allowed in the lawn area. When we took these, we didn’t know. There was another family taking photos in the middle of the lawn with their dog. So we followed after them. But after we made it to the other end of the lawn, there’s actually a sign there that dogs aren’t allowed in the lawn area. Ooops. My bad! We didn’t hang out in the lawn though. Just took these photos in the corner before walking back to the pathway.
Take Photos and Get Inspired
Every corner you go, there are so many cute spots perfect for an Insta-shot! In fact, this is probably one of the more popular ones. How awesome that they came up with this #milestomagnolia? It’s fun to see photos of people from everywhere, traveling hundreds to thousands of miles just to visit the Silos!
So how many #milestomagnolia was it for us? We were coming from Dallas. So it was only 105 miles. But considering it was a road trip from Pittsburgh to Dallas to Waco, then it was actually 1,324 miles! Whew!
But more than that, these beautiful things are great inspiration for your homes. I already noted a couple of ideas in mind for our next home. And perhaps, watching way too much Fixer Upper shows and after seeing Magnolia Market, I’m seriously considering Farmhouse style decor. We’ll see. I can’t take out the glam, black, white and gold aesthetic that I love, but mixing in Farmhouse style ain’t a bad idea either.
Want to decorate your home as if Joanna Gaines styled it? The Magnolia Market has the chicest home decor pieces that Jo would usually use in her styling projects. But I’m not gonna be biased just because I’m a fan of their show and their work. Some of the pieces there, you can find something similar at a lower price elsewhere. Actually, I read some reviews of the place before heading over, and this is one of the comments I’ve read. While that maybe true, I totally understand the price points at Magnolia Market. It’s not some mass retailer that you can find anywhere. And the products are carefully curated to fit Magnolia Market’s aesthetic. It’s got a more personal feel and you can see the attention to detail. And since it has become a tourist destination, it’s already expected that it would be a little bit pricey than your typical home store – because it’s obviously more than that!
And a TIP, if you don’t want to line up, just note down your favorites and order online.
This place is really for the family. So hang out and eat after all the fun. There are plenty of food trucks in the compound. Plus, there’s a bakery called Silos Baking Co. serving Joanna’s famous cupcakes. There’s a big food hall with plenty of tables. But there are plenty more scattered throughout the place.
What to Eat?
There are a lot of food trucks here but I highly recommend Milo. The truffle fries are so good. The burgers are delicious. There’s also the Luna Juice Bar with some delicious green juice and fresh watermelon served on… where else? A watermelon!
What to Wear?
Do I even have to add this? Well, it’s a style blog after all! 🙂 But seriously, what you’ll need to wear will greatly depend on when you go. Our bipolar Texas weather can get crazy. So make sure you check the weather forecast the day before. But in general, it can get pretty windy out there. And since it’s an open space, I highly suggest wearing pants or shorts – not a dress or skirt. So you don’t recreate a Marilyn Monroe moment – unless it’s part of the photo production. Haha! I know I’m wearing a dress here which is why I’m telling you not to follow suit. But if you want to take pretty, girly, feminine, and country chic outfit photos, then just wear something underneath or go for maxis! Bring a hair tie or put your hair up, because I had crazy lion hair in most of our photos. Haha.
Other Things To Note
Don’t worry about parking because they have a designated parking lot and it’s free. You can also take the free trolley that Waco offers. For more info on that, read and watch the video here. Also, take note of hours of operation. The Silos is closed on Sunday. So make sure to plan ahead. Saturday is always a busy day since it’s the only weekend that it’s open. So if you have a free week day, it’s the best time to go.
If you’re planning to visit the Magnolia Market at the Silos soon, don’t forget to pin this post as your guide. And if you have any questions at all, just drop them in the comments section below and I’ll get to them as soon as I can! Happy Weekend! Xo.
