Today at STYLEanthropy, I am partnering with Dove to share with you tips on taking care of your skin during the winter season. While this is a sponsored post, I have been using Dove products for years and have been using Dove Advanced Care Antiperspirant daily.
Winter season can make your skin dry and dull. The weather changing – from hot and humid to cold and dry – can take a toll on your skin. Think dry lips, itchy underarms, cracked heels and elbows, and scaly skin! Now is the time to repair sun damage from all outdoor activities you did in the summer. At the same time, you have to protect your skin from the cold-weather conditions that winter brings. Below, I’ve rounded up some of my winter skincare essentials along with tips from Dove Dermatologist, Dr. Alicia Barba.
How to Take Care of Your Skin During Winter Season
Switch to Cream Products
Instead of using scrubs and exfoliants that can strip the skin of its natural oils, go for cream-based or hydrating facial cleansers. They are gentler and will also help hydrate your skin. Dr. Barba recommends exfoliating less because it can further dry up your skin, leading to breakouts during the cold and dry months.
Care for Your Underarms
Just because you’re bundled up during winter season does it mean it’s okay to overlook your underarms. According to Dr. Barba, the different textures and fabrics in sweaters, shirts, and undergarments can irritate your skin. So make sure you use a product that keeps you protected and hydrated. I use and love my Dove Advanced Care Antiperspirant. Not only does it provide 48-hour odor and wetness protection, it also offers added skin care benefits for softer, smoother underarms. That’s because Dove Advanced Care is formulated with moisturizers.

Don’t Forget to Hydrate
Don’t forget to drink enough water. I know that drinking water during the colder temperatures can cause you to go to the bathroom more. But it’s important to stay hydrated to help prevent the skin’s dryness.
Opt for Moisturizing Masks
During the winter season, I like to use hydrating or moisturizing masks to help battle dryness. There are different types of masks out there. So make sure that’s the one you use during this season.
Moisturize and Use Sunscreen
Moisturize not just the exposed areas of your skin. Make sure to pay attention to the skin that’s covered up too! Not because you’re wearing sweaters all season does it mean you can skip moisturizing your arms, legs, or body. Take the time to give extra care to those areas so come spring and summer, your healthy skin will thank you! And of course, after moisturizing, don’t forget to use sunscreen. Harmful UV rays don’t take a break during winter. So any exposed skin, protect with a sunscreen even during the cold season.
Hope all these tips can help you out with your winter skincare routine. If you have any more tips you’d like to include, please share them in the comments below. And as always, if you love these tips, make sure to pin or save this post. Xo.
