Last time, I told you all about maximizing your tax refund with purchases that help you save more and in turn give back. To be specific, one way to use those tax dollars is to switch to a more affordable phone plan. That way, you’ll have extra to enjoy with the ones you love. If like our family, you enjoy watching movies, you can use the savings you get to plus up your entertainment game at home. Below, I’m sharing how you can style a movie concession bar at home. But first, let’s talk about the phone plan that will get you the savings you need.

Family Mobile Phone Plans

As a blogger, it’s important to me to have an unlimited phone plan, what with the heavy use of social shares especially at blogging events. We know how pricey unlimited phone plans can be. So luckily, Walmart Family Mobile Plus Plan has Unlimited* Talk, Text, & Data  (*Includes up to 10GB of 4G LTE† data then 2G) and a free movie credit on VUDU every month ($7 value same as new release rental) for $49.88 per month, per line. A larger bucket of data for that price? And the free VUDU movie credit that’s perfect for movie nights? Yes, please!

You can choose a phone (or bring your own) at Walmart. I got the Samsung Galaxy On5 on rollback for only $69. The regular price was $119.00. So yep, more savings for me! And to activate the service, all you need is to purchase the SIM Kit for just $19.88.

Now that you’re saving each month on your family’s phone plan and enjoying a free VUDU movie rental, you can host special movie nights at home with your family. Below, I’m sharing how you can set up and style a movie concession bar at home. This makes movie nights more fun and enjoyable. It’s like going to the theaters and grabbing your favorite movie snacks and bites!

Style a Movie Concession Bar at Home

Locate a Spot for Your Movie Concession Stand or Bar

Find a spot in your living room or next to the TV that you can utilize as a movie concession stand or bar. Even better if it can be a permanent spot for your movie snacks because with the monthly VUDU movie credit, you’ll be able to enjoy new release movie rentals regularly. If you don’t have the space, you can also use a bar or serving cart.

Decor: Create a Banner or Sign

Create a banner or sign for your concession stand. You can hang or stick it to the wall on top of your bar or if using a bar cart, hang on the rails. For this banner, I used supplies I found at Walmart’s craft aisle:

  • A banner kit with pennants, mini wooden clothes pins, and string included
  • Burlap-covered lettering – I got the letters M, O, V, I, and E
  • Cute printed paper as background for the letters
  • Glue gun and glue sticks
  • Foil stars

To create the banner:

  1. I started cutting squares from the printed card stock. They will serve as a backdrop for the letters.
  2. I glued each letter to the printed square using the glue gun.
  3. After that, I glued each of the printed squares to the brown paper pennants.
  4. I clipped the pennants onto the string with the clothes pins.
  5. And finally, I taped the string to the wall to hang my banner.

Fill Up and Decorate Your Concession Stand

I found these silver stars in the party aisle at Walmart and thought they would be perfect for my movie concession bar. Hollywood and shiny stars? Yup!

To add more shine and glam (like you’d normally find at the red carpet), I got gold cups from Walmart too. They’re dual purpose because I can use them as drink cups and at the same time put popcorn in for individual servings. Oh, and you can also put hotdog buns in them!

Candy Bar

Concession stands won’t be complete without the candies. I got these clear containers at Walmart that makes serving candy so fancy. Put whatever candies your family loves and you’re good to go!

Now all you need is to start that free movie from VUDU and enjoy these snacks. Don’t forget, you can stream to a smart TV, ROKU®, Chromecast®, VUDU Spark™, or other compatible devices. For movie nights, we like to stream on the big TV in the living room.

So, what other movie snacks do you and your family love? Do share them below and don’t forget to pin the image to save this idea for your next movie night.

This is such a great party set-up! What an easy way to make a banner, too – I will have to give this is a try for our next event. #client
