Today at STYLEanthropy, I’m sharing with you my experience using Differin® Gel acne treatment for eight-weeks, as I first told you about in this previous post. And of course, I’m sharing how to stick to a beauty regimen when you find something that really works for you. I know how hard it can be to stick to a beauty routine, especially when you sleep at different times, travel a lot, or your work shift changes every now and then. I struggled myself, so I devised a plan to help stick to a beauty routine. I’m sharing my tips below.
5 Ways to Stick to a Beauty Regimen
1. Keep Nighttime Beauty Products on the Bedside Table
Since I work from home and oftentimes work late nights, I’m too tired to remember to do everything before bedtime. I end up just washing my face or using facial wipes before I hit the sack. The next morning, I wake up regretting not putting on that serum again. So a good reminder would be to line up your nighttime beauty products on your bedside table. I know it may look like clutter, especially when you love a clean and stylish home, so a good trick would be to put them on a tray and add decorative touches. The important thing is, that it would be the last thing you see before you sleep. That way you’ll be reminded to do it.
2. Put Them Next to Your Toothbrush
Don’t want them on your nightstand? Fine. You can line them up next to your toothbrush by the sink. That way you’ll be reminded to do your beauty routine after you brush your teeth at night. Whether you do that after dinner or before bedtime, you’ll be reminded to put on your serum and creams right after brushing.
3. Display on a Shelf within Eye Level
If you have a shelf in the bedroom that is within eye level, consider putting your serums and creams there. I have a shelf that’s just perfect eye level from the bed, so I see everything that’s there. Just make sure it’s not too cluttered. You’ll want to spot your beauty products easily and be reminded to put them on before you close your eyes.
4. Set Alarms on Your Phone
When you’re managing so many things, notifications and alarms on your phone are your best friends. I set alarms for my medications when I’m sick. I set alarms for blog posts and social media posts that can’t be scheduled. I set alarms to walk Louis outside and/or work out. So why not set an alarm to do your morning or nighttime beauty routine? Even if you sleep at different times, you can set a time just to do your nighttime routine. Mine is around 10 PM. That way, even if you’re burning the midnight oil, you won’t have to worry about your skincare because it’s already done earlier that night.
5. Keep in Smaller Containers for Travel
Sometimes I’d skip my beauty regimen when I’m traveling. My reason? “Oh, the bottle is too big to fit into my toiletry bag. I’m just gonna leave it.” And then there’s the, “It’s just a few days anyway.” But how can you stick to a routine if you’re constantly breaking it? Get yourself some travel containers. For even smaller packaging, use a contact lens holder or pot for small portions of creams and serums. Here’s a tip: I wash and reuse prescription medicine bottles for travel containers, too!
8 Weeks After Differin® Gel Acne Treatment
So, after using those tips I shared with you, how did the Differin® Gel Acne Treatment work on me after eight-weeks? Like I said in my previous post, my new beauty regimen involved Differin® Balancing Cleanser, followed by Differin® Gel Acne Treatment, and then I finish it off with Differin® Balancing Moisturizer. Overall, I was impressed with Differin® products. I didn’t get breakouts, even during my period. From time to time, there would be very minimal white heads when I didn’t take care of my skin, but using this acne treatment has significantly changed my skin.
*Please use caution when using Differin® Gel with more than one acne treatment or glycolic acid product because this could lead to irritation.
What’s different about this acne treatment is that it’s NOT a spot treatment. It’s used all over your face to clear and prevent acne. Differin® Gel is the first prescription-strength retinoid that’s available over the counter. No prescription is needed. And yes, it’s available at Walmart! In over 30 years, it’s the newest advancement and ingredient in the OTC acne category. It has the only multi-benefit dermatologist recommended retinoid, Adapalene, available OTC. It clears breakouts where they start (deep in the pores), prevents breakouts before they begin, and as a result, restores skin’s texture and tone. Go to Differin.com to get $2 off Differin® Gel and use it on your next shopping trip to Walmart!
