Niagara Falls US Travelogue

Today at STYLEanthropy, let’s travel in style to Niagara Falls, US side. This side of Niagara lies in the city of the same name, Niagara Falls, in the state of New York. While you can actually see both US and Canada sides whether you come from the US border or the Canada border, each side offers a different angle and perspective. It has been a topic of debate on where to see the falls best. I personally couldn’t give you an answer, since I only got a view from the US side. But it was spectacular. I’ve heard Canada side is even more amazing. But I’ll get to that next time when I cross that side!

Discovering Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls is made up of three waterfalls namely:

  1. Horseshoe Falls
  2. American Falls
  3. Bridal Veil Falls

The beautiful Horseshoe Falls lie mostly on the Canadian side. The other two lie on the American border. If you decide to visit the US side, you can check out the Niagara Falls State Park website for information on current admission prices, parking, map, events, fireworks, and light illumination schedules.

I personally suggest going on a full day tour because it’s nice to take photos during the day. But it’s also amazing to wait for the fireworks and light illumination in the evening. The light glowing beautifully amongst the water falling is a sight to behold. I had only seen pictures of Niagara Falls at night. But it’s definitely worth going back to in the not so far future.

Now as far as missing the gorgeous view of the falls from the Canada side, if you ride the Maid of the Mist boat, it will take you as close as possible to the Horseshoe Falls. The boat ride will give you a view from the Canada angle, albeit more up close and from the bottom of the falls. Still, it’s a full experience. I highly recommend you take the Maid of the Mist boat tour.

The photos above were photos taken from our trip to Niagara Falls back in 2008. This post was first published on my older blog, My Fashion Juice. We rode the Maid of the Mist, explored the Cave of the Winds, climbed the Observation Tower and enjoyed the Hiking Trails. Note that these activities have separate tickets/fees. So make sure to plan ahead.

Hope you enjoyed these photos of Niagara Falls. Keep traveling in style.
