New York Fashion Week Day 3 Outfit

Welcome back to STYLEanthropy dear friends! Today, I’m sharing my FW17 New York Fashion Week Day 3 outfit. For this look, I wanted it to be neutral, classy, and elegantly chic. Remember my post, Neutral and Gray Matter? I was looking for a fashion week outfit when I was browsing and featuring those pieces for that blog post. I love the monochromatic style as it evokes that luxe and refined look. But you don’t have to spend a lot to look like a million bucks! I partnered with Macy’s Backstage to hunt for fashion week-worthy pieces without the hefty price tag. See some of the pieces I got below (more in another outfit post)!

It was a bit tricky shopping for New York Fashion Week since stores are now rolling out Spring styles. BUT, do you know what’s on clearance now? Coats! It was perfect because it was a cold and snowy February New York Fashion Week. I was so lucky to have found this gray Catherine Malandrino coat (which was hundreds of dollars) for a little over $50 bucks at Macy’s Backstage. SCORE! It’s perfect for the “all gray or something neutral” that I had in mind. It was just MEANT TO BE!

So I first found the coat. Looking for what to pair it with was again tricky because they are starting to switch the selection to Spring clothing. There were still a lot of gorgeous sweaters, but I wanted something more structured. THEN, I saw this gray jumpsuit from afar. Sure it was sleeveless. And sure it seemed like a lighter fabric than what you’d normally wear for winter. This is probably for Spring. BUT it was gorgeous! The silhouette. The color. And oh, it’s from Trina Turk, guys! The retail price was over $300 but I scored it for a little over $100! I tried it on and found out that it was lined. PERFECT! I just had to add a turtleneck underneath to make it appropriate for the current season. And then come Spring, I’ll be wearing it sans the long sleeves. Ahhhh! Soooo good!

All I needed to add were my accessories. I’ve had this faux fur stole for awhile and I thought it would be a nice addition to the outfit. In case it gets colder, I can use it as a collar to add more layers in the neck area.

Wore my black suede ankle booties I wore here, added my favorite Chanel boy bag, and I was good to go.

And to add just a pop of color to the outfit, I wore one of my daily faves, this Quay sunglasses!

In case you saw my ‘gram with the gray hair, well, these photos were taken early in the morning before all the magic! We had coffee at Bluestone Lane Coffee, an Aussie-inspired cafe, and it was amazing! Will be sharing more in a NYC city guide soon. Stay tuned!

What do you think? Burgundy or gray hair? Let me know!

P.S. yes, the gray hair is a wig! Hah! ;p
