New York Fashion Week Cruise

Today at STYLEanthropy, I’m blogging from New York and sharing with you the festivities of the New York Fashion Week Cruise! GiGi New York, Yosi Samra, Ruche, Threadsence, High Fashion Home, and Hornblower Cruises organized the best fashion week show ever – on a boat (I’m on a boat… I’m on a boat) – okay, on a cruise! #NYFWCruise was such a great way to start my New York Fashion Week, guys! It was amazing and I can’t wait to share with you the experience!

First order of business – cocktails! This (top photo) was on the second floor where the fashion show happened. But when we got to the cruise, we were on the main floor with the bigger bar, DJ and of course the goodies…

GiGi New York purses anyone?

If you follow me on snapchat (username styleanthropy) then you’ve seen what I picked! If you don’t have a snapchat or missed that snap, it’s this gorgeous purse.

Okay, so I apologize for not having decent outfit photos. I planned to take them prior to boarding, but we were late and it was raining. You can see from my hair here that I’m a little wet! Ugh. I will make sure to take photos of this outfit later or tomorrow because I need to post it anyway. So stay tuned for the deets.

P.S., isn’t the chair I’m sitting on so gorgeous? It’s from High Fashion Home and I’m guessing I have a new site to browse! So after looking at Ruche, Threadsence clothes, and Yosi Samra Fall collection, it was time for the fashion show!

How amazing it was to have the NYC skyline as the backdrop! Passing by Lady Liberty while seeing the looks from the brands was such a treat.

And because I want you to feel like you were there with me too, and don’t want you to feel bad if you don’t have Snapchat, I made this video for you!

Props to the models for walking on slightly wet runway and on a moving cruise! I had an amazing time. It was so much fun and was great to see Dallas fashion bloggers here in NYC. Anyway, below are some snaps that didn’t make it to my ‘gram but thought I’d share with you here.

Well, that’s it. But if you’d love to read more, let me tell you a story prior to arriving to the pier. So it was the first day of NYFW and we got to NYC past 2. Before entering Manhattan, we made a pitstop in NJ to have a super late lunch at Jollibee. It’s the silliest ever, because it’s just a Philippine fast food chain, nothing special. But when you’ve been deprived of familiar/comfort food, it’s just a must.

So anyway, we got to our hotel, freshened up and changed outfits. But by the time we were ready to leave, it was too late to go to my first event. By the time we get there, we will need to leave for my second event – the #NYFWCruise! So we decided to wait a few minutes and leave for the pier. Bad decision.

I was already thinking about UBER-ing (made up word, I know). But with NYC traffic, we just won’t make it. Instead, we got unlimited passes for the subway/train/bus. Only problem is, we took the train going the opposite way which doubled our travel time. I thought we weren’t going to make it, but thank God we did.

The cruise ended around 9, which meant I may be able to squeeze in my 2 other events. But then it started to rain hard and we got soaked. We just had to stop at a nearby cafe to take cover, and ended up crashing a party just to use the bathroom. LOL. By the time we were back in the streets, the LuLu*s Style Studio event would have been over. And getting all soaked, I opted not to go to the fashion week opening party anymore.

Tomorrow I’ve set aside the day for some shopping! But I’ll be back in time for a fashion show or two (who knows what time I’ll be done). So STYLEanthropists, make sure you are following on Snapchat, IG, Facebook or Twitter (user styleanthropy for all social media channels), because I’ll be taking you along with me shopping. Watch and learn how to find great deals, guys. Watch and learn. Haha. Until the next #NYFW post! Xo.

Oh my goodness this looks so fun! The skyline looks gorgeous in the background, and you look so chic. So jealous I couldn’t be there!
