Hello, December! Today at STYLEanthropy, I’m sharing with you my birthday slash holiday dress from Topshop. The countdown to Christmas and my birthday is on. What I love about being a Christmas baby is that everyone is in a festive mood to party. There’s something special and magical about it – the feeling that everyone is celebrating with you on your special day – and everyone remembers it too! My birthday becomes somewhat a whole month of celebration, in line with Christmas. So several holiday dress options are a must – not just for me, but for you too – because I know you’ll be attending back to back holiday parties whether in school, at work, or with family and friends.
Today’s holiday look is brought to you by Topshop. I got so excited receiving this in the mail, you should have heard/seen me jump for joy on my snapchat (username styleanthropy) when I opened the box. I just love everything about this outfit – from the sexy faux leather dress with a lace bottom trim…
to this amazing and gorgeous warm faux fur animal print coat…
Holiday Dress Tips
One can never go wrong with an LBD (little black dress) for the Holidays. You can plan to wear an all white, jewel-toned, festive red or green outfit… but when all else fails, trust the little black dress for anything and everything!
Pair it with black boots or pumps – preferably something high-heeled to make it special for the Holidays. TIP: Suede always feels luxe and appropriate for Holiday parties. Metal or bling details are an added bonus! If there’s any appropriate time to sparkle and shine, it’s during Christmas and New Year’s! You can also go with sexy red or wine-colored pumps.
For a purse, a clutch or wallet-on-chain is the most appropriate. You don’t wanna bring the whole house with you to a fancy affair. But if you must, keep a separate tote in your car, and have a clutch with just your essentials at the party. Having a black clutch is essential because it will go with almost anything. I’m loving the fun fringe detail in this one!
To add print and color to an otherwise all black outfit, try wearing a statement coat in your favorite color. Try a deep red or how about this faux fur animal print coat? I love having a statement coat to go with more formal outfits during the cold season. This will be on repeat throughout winter for sure.
