The Lash Lounge Flower Mound Texas

Last month, I got my lash extensions done, thanks to The Lash Lounge Flower Mound Texas. Every now and then, I enjoy getting lash extensions – especially if there’s a special occasion coming up. One, I don’t have long nor do I have a ton of lashes to begin with. And sometimes, a makeup look seems incomplete without some gorgeous fanned out lashes. Two, I almost always don’t have the time to put on false lashes. And three, putting falsies can be tricky, let alone when I’m running late to an event. Oh, and did I mention that with lash extensions, you will look like you’re all dolled up 24/7. Wake up, take a selfie, and caption it: “I woke up like this.” So if I can get gorgeous lashes that will last 3-4 weeks, I’m game.

The Lash Lounge Flower Mound Texas

I had the pleasure of visiting one of the latest Lash Lounge stores in North Texas, The Lash Lounge Flower Mound. If you’re in the area and are looking for a good lash salon, I highly recommend this place. Why?

One –  the location is nice. It’s conveniently located in Robertson’s Creek Shopping Center where there’s a coffee shop, a variety of restaurants, craft store, shops, and other beauty salons/spa. So you can get a massage in the morning, have lunch, get a new ‘do, drink coffee, and then get your extensions done – all in one shopping area. Saturday well spent!

Two – the place is gorgeous! Upon entering The Lash Lounge, I was greeted by a lovely reception area that’s Insta-worthy. The delicate gray walls, beauty-filled shelfie, pretty plants, and of course, those luxe tufted chairs – all make for a perfect Instagram shoot.

The magic happens behind these two sliding doors which reminded me that I need them in my future dream home!

And then here we are where the lash extensions are done.

After two hours, this is how my lashes looked… which leads me to my reason number Three of recommending this place. The service was good. The lash technician was very knowledgeable. She explained a lot to me: from how it works to how my lashes are, all the way to what style of lashes would work well with my features. Plus, I didn’t feel much sting afterwards and they lasted pretty long.

FYI, I don’t have any makeup on except for lip balm. So excuse my sort-of selfie. LOL! But do you see what I mentioned earlier? That even if you don’t have makeup on, it feels like you’re still all dolled up. My face may not be perfect, but my lashes are! Hah! This photo below was taken about 1.5 weeks after.

Let’s Tackle Some Concerns/Questions You Might Have…

How Long Is The Process? Is It Expensive?

It takes 2 hours to do. But a fill takes about an hour. You can come in for a fill when you notice the extensions are already thinning and want to extend the life of those gorgeous lashes. Plus, it’s cheaper to get a fill than to have to wait for everything to fall out and come in for a new full set. Yes, lash extensions are expensive, usually starts at $200. I know some salons go on sale from time to time. Fills are usually in the $50-80 range.

Do They Last?

Typically, they last about 2-3 weeks. What happens is, since the extensions are glued to each of your individual natural lash, when your lash falls out, the extension attached to it goes with it too. A typical lifespan of an eyelash is somewhere around 30 to 45 days. You’ll notice some thinning by the second or third week, depending on how gentle you are with your lashes. If you rub your eyes quite often, chances are, they’ll grow thinner sooner.

TIP: DO NOT RUB your eyes, not just to prolong the extensions’ lifespan, but because it’s not hygienic and can cause infections.

So Is It Safe? Can It Cause Infections?

You may not know it, but you might be the one causing the infection and think it’s because of the lash extensions. Some, especially if it’s their first time, feel uneasy with extensions because they are not used to the long lashes. The result is that they keep rubbing or touching the eyes throughout the day, and that’s what’s actually causing the infection.

Of course, it’s a different story if you got lash glue in your eye by accident. That’s why it’s so important to go to a trusted lash salon with well-trained experts and a clean environment. Do you know that The Lash Lounge is currently the official lash sponsor of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders? That’s saying something.

Is it Painful?

No, not at all. You’ll just be sleeping throughout the process if you go to a good lash salon. My experience with The Lash Lounge Flower Mound was great. I fell asleep right away. And when I woke up, 2 hours have gone.

There’s just gonna be a slight sting when you first open your eyes – or not – depends if the glue has completely dried already. With my experience here, my right eye didn’t sting at all because that was the first one that got finished. So the glue was already dry. But, there was a slight sting on my left eye that didn’t last very long. It was just when I first opened it. Since it was the last one to be done, the glue may not have been completely dry when I opened my eye yet. So they just used a small fan on that side for a minute or two, and then I was done. Sting gone!

Can They Get Wet? Is It High Maintenance?

For the first 24 hours after getting your extensions, they can’t get wet. So I was washing my face at an angle and then just carefully wiping the forehead part.

TIP: Take a bath before doing this and don’t put makeup on. That’s why I have my no make selfie after the process!

After the first day, you can go shower and wash as usual. BUT, I won’t lie, because I was OCD with them, I was super careful with washing. I had to pay extra attention to them. Even when drying myself with a towel, I have to be really careful. And after washing the face or taking a shower, it’s best to use that lash brush they send with you after. The lashes may go sideways or curl the other way when wet. So brushing it will keep it in the correct direction. And also, when applying any face product such as moisturizer, serums, or makeup, again, you have to be careful not to touch it. It will help prolong the lashes that way.

Will They Ruin Your Natural Lashes?

It shouldn’t. But I’ve heard stories about lashes not as full as they were before getting extensions, etc. It should grow back in time. But again, if you’re skeptic, it all goes back to going to a trusted lash salon. Sometimes, when we try to look for the lowest price, it ends up costing as more. So keep in mind the saying: you get what you pay for. Just be mindful and do your research!
