Today is the last day of Fall season. So I thought it would be nice to feature one last Fall look (or maybe I’m just behind, lol). But seriously though, I’ve said it time and again, Fall is my favorite season and I’m sad to see it go. While tomorrow, the start of Winter season, means my birthday is just a few days away, I still prefer Fall. The wait leading up to the holiday season is more exciting. The shades of Autumn – so romantic. The air is crisp and cool, but the temperature is just perfect. While I love the occasional snow, winter can be so harsh, especially here in the North East. And when you need three or four (maybe five) layers, dressing up becomes a chore instead of being fun. So here’s to you my favorite Autumn…
“Fall: bright flame before winter’s deadness; harvest; orange, gold, amber; cool nights and the smell of fire. Our tree-lined streets are set ablaze, our kitchens filled with the smells of nostalgia: apples bubbling into sauce, roasting squash, cinnamon, nutmeg, cider, warmth itself. The leaves as they spark into wild color just before they die are the world’s oldest performance art, and everything we see is celebrating one last violently hued hurrah before the black and white and silence of winter.” – Shauna Niequist
