Game Day Traditions: Beauty and Grooming Edition

Today at STYLEanthropy, let’s talk about the upcoming Big Game and your Game Day Traditions. Planning a big party with family and friends? Are you already planning the menu and preparing your home to fit all of your guests? But wait a minute, what are you doing to prepare yourself? That’s right. We all hear about food and home preparations. But how do you prepare for the Big Game? What are your Game Day Traditions? Let me share with you mine.

As with any “Big” party – holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. – I like to prepare myself too. It’s not just about preparing your home to look neat and clean. It’s not just about preparing the food to satisfy your guests. It’s also about preparing yourself to look nice and presentable. Okay, before you say anything about vanity, let me stop you right there. It’s totally NOT about that. This is about hygiene and being confident about yourself, guys.

At a party, a lot can happen. At a game viewing party, you might jump, fist pump, scream, high-five, kneel, boo, clap, roar or sweat among all sorts of things. Touchdown… Interception… ALL. THE. EMOTIONS. All the feelings!!! Are you confident with your smell, your breath, your hair, whatever dangles, shows up and what not? Haha. This may seem funny, but I’m serious!

All I’m saying is, if you prepare your home and your kitchen for the Big Game, then you should prepare yourself too. Who wants to keep their mouth shut just because you’re not confident about your teeth… when it’s the last 2 minutes and your team needs to score that touchdown in order to win?

Clean & Bright Teeth + Great Smelling Breath

As someone who loves coffee, wine and soda (I know, I know… I better stop), my teeth somewhat lost its sparkle over the years. That doesn’t mean I can’t do anything about it. I have been wanting to try the Crest 3D White Luxe Whitestrips from Procter & Gamble for so long. So you can imagine my delight when I got these beauty and grooming products in the mail (thank you She Speaks and P&G).

It was perfect to try just in time for the Big Game. I imagine my teeth sparkling by then. I have tried this for the last couple of days and I’m in awe of the results. I really saw the difference and I can’t wait to see how my teeth will look like after a few weeks. Such a GAME changer! It says in the packaging that it removes 14 years of stains and that the results last for 12 months.

I’ll be smiling and cheering on our favorite team without any hesitation! I’ll be sure to share with you the final result on my Instagram as soon as I finish the box. But for now, you’ll have to take my word for it. Or maybe not… try it out and see for yourself. It’s available at Walmart.

While you’re at it, try the Oral-B Vitality toothbrush which removes more plaque than a regular manual toothbrush. Using the Crest Pro-Health advanced toothpaste with it helps you remove cavities, gingivitis, tartar, and plaque. Plus, it also helps with sensitivity, acid erosion, whitening and will freshen your breath so you can roar, cheer and scream freely while you watch the Big Game!

Smooth & Flawless Legs and Underarms

Watching an intense game, you are most likely to raise your arms, jump for joy, or do crazy gestures and what not. So why not do it confidently and without hesitation? Well, Big Game or not, I make sure I take care of this on a regular basis because you’ll never know! Make sure you’ve got smooth and flawless legs and underarms with the help of this Gillette Venus Swirl razor. I’ve been a fan ever since I discovered it a couple of months ago. I like to shave while in the shower. So get your body all cleaned up, get that smooth legs and underarms, and you’ll be out of the bathroom smelling and looking good!

Clean and Dandruff-Free Hair

Of course, having clean, good-smelling and dandruff-free hair is also how I like to prepare for any parties such as the Big Game Day! You don’t wanna be shaking your head only to see flakes falling on your favorite Team’s jerseys or shirts. I admit, even though I try a variety of hair products on a regular basis, there’s one brand of hair shampoo and conditioner that’s always in our household… Head & Shoulders! Maintenance is key to getting rid of dandruff or avoiding it. We make sure to have this in stock all the time or use it alternately if I’m trying out different hair products. But for dry and cold weather season, we reach for it all the time.

So… Hair clean. Body clean and smooth. Teeth clean and breath fresh. You’re all set for the Big Game. I usually complete my beauty and grooming Game Day Traditions with a no-makeup makeup look. I like to keep it simple with just powder or tinted moisturizer, lip balm/gloss, a bit of blush if I’m looking pale, and if I want to look fancy, eyebrow pencil just to define my brows. I finish off with an outfit inspired by the team’s colors and I’m all set.
