Today at STYLEanthropy, I’m sharing this Sporty Black and White trend in honor of today’s Super Bowl event! If you follow me on Instagram, then you’ve seen me post this. I’ll be sharing with you in another post, 4 different looks to tackle upcoming Spring 2015’s big trend: the sporty or athletic black and white fashion trend! For today, let’s stick to one look which is pretty timely for today’s festivities. Who is game day ready?
Game Day Outfit + Sporty Black and White Trend
I am a huge fan of this sporty black and white trend for Spring. Besides the fact that over 50% of my closet is in black and white, I love the comfy and casual cool look the trend evokes. While you see me wear heels, dresses and lots of colors on the blog, my favorite go-to outfits always involve something easy, comfy, and in black or white. I love wearing joggers because let’s face it, they are perfect at hiding the unwanted. LOL! That’s why it’s a perfect Game Day outfit too. The Big Game calls for lots of eating and watching TV. Well guess what, jogger pants can take care of that! LOL! No judging!
I especially love this pair of joggers because it’s in black which is great for slimming… but, it’s got that white stripe on the side too. Stripes make everything sporty-looking. Plus, that one white stripe on the side is a perfect slimming accent! It creates an illusion of longer and slimmer legs. This pair of pants also comes in a black stripe. And girls, it’s currently on sale for under $25. This knit jogger is even cheaper and warmer. You can thank me later. I was shocked to have found it last week while forced to wait in the mall the whole afternoon. Haha!
As for my top, it’s an old oversized one from Zara and it’s got that athletic and sporty look all over it. It’s kind of a hybrid of a varsity sweater. The black and white colors, the stripe on the back, the lettering… and of course, Z stands for my last name! It was a perfect match to the jogger pants for my Game Day outfit! Here are some similar sporty oversized black and white sweaters I thought you might like:
For a really casual and sporty look, I accessorized with one of the most popular sneakers of 2013-2014, the Nike Roshe Run! Of course, if you want the look to be less sporty, you can definitely wear the top and pants with some ankle booties or even some sexy pumps! It all depends on where you are going or what you’ll be doing. But since this is for a Game Day outfit, I went all out sporty. Add to that a gorgeous backpack from Rebecca Minkoff (this RM MAB backpack is hawttt) with a mix of leather and nylon in her iconic Zip style, and I’m all set. Beanie hat hybrid optional!
WEARING: Zara “Z” top, a.n.a. soft jogger pants (on sale), Nike Roshe Run sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff Zip backpack bag, Nordstrom Rack hat beanie, MAC cosmetics lipstick in Rebel, Michael Kors two tone watch.
