Christ has risen! Christ has risen! Happy Easter from STYLEanthropy! I hope y’all are having a wonderful time with family and friends today, celebrating Jesus Christ with your loved ones. We’re happy to have family visiting this week. So I made sure to schedule this Easter Outfit post ahead of time.
This outfit was actually what I wore at last year’s Easter celebration at a friend’s house. Hah! Yup. I wasn’t able to share it a year ago. So I thought it would only be appropriate to share it now.
But going through the photos, I knew why they didn’t make it to the blog. It was just way too windy that day, despite the sun shining high above. And that meant everything that I was wearing, including my hair, kept going in the wrong direction. They just won’t cooperate for a decent photo.
The lighting was bad because we shot this mid day. My hair was just blowing everywhere, courtesy of the wind. My culottes was also being blown to show unflattering silhouettes. I forgot to put on any make up at all. It’s like trying to take a group photo – it’s hard to find one decent pic where everyone is smiling or looking at the camera. In this case, the people are the things I’m wearing. Hah! Nothing was just going as planned.
Just like how this past week had been. I felt a little bit defeated. I felt like nothing was going according as planned… or perhaps, how I hoped it would be… a delayed trip, little things not coming along as I wished, petty worries. I guess PMS is kicking in. You know it, ladies!
But nevertheless, I prayed to God and He said, everything will be alright. Everything will always be handled accordingly. You’re alive and well, and have survived all of past obstacles. Worrying will never help solve anything. Just put your faith in me.
And then I remembered the Bible verse that’s sitting here on my blog’s sidebar:
“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, they are for good and not for evil to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah 29:11
And so, I am hopeful… and grateful for today. We should celebrate Jesus’ sacrifice for all of us.
Okay, now let’s get to the fashion part of this post. For a year now, I’ve wanted to show you this awesome trench coat. The subtle lace details in the back and in the pockets are just beautiful and makes it so appropriate for Spring! It also has an adjustable waist, thanks to the hidden adjustable elastic tie inside. You’ll notice it in the waist area in the photo below.
This Brahmin bag, given to me by Belk a few years ago, is still one of my favorites from the Brahmin Melbourne Collection. This Harrison Carryall cross body bag is no longer available in this collection, but it’s available in the blue Lisbon collection at Belk. There’s also a bigger carryall version in the same gray shade and a same size but super cute summer print!
Laundry Trench Coat (old, similar here)
Floral blouse (similar and only $9.99)
French Connection snake print sandals c/o Belk (now on sale for under $60 from $145)

Chanel pearl drop earrings (similar version here, similar style but more affordable here)
