Today at STYLEanthropy, I’m sharing with you my Day 2 morning in Charleston, the brunch and Belk Style Challenge! It’s been a busy past couple of weeks but I’m back to share with you more photos from my trip to Charleston, S.C. during Charleston Fashion Week. For those who are new to the blog, WELCOME! I am one of the nine Southern Style Summit bloggers chosen by Belk who were flown off to Charleston to enjoy 3 days of fashion, food and fun. Our first day was spent on introductions, leisure, mingling at the tents, and a fabulous and amazing dinner with designer Trina Turk at The Grocery. You can read Day 1 recap here. For the morning of Day 2, we drove off to Mt. Pleasant for brunch and a Belk Style Challenge. Here’s how it went.

It was a gloomy and rainy day in Charleston, but Belk made sure our morning was bright and fun. A fabulous spread was prepared for us and I had mimosas and light bites over interesting chats with fellow bloggers, the Belk team and the Nunez PR team.

After brunch, we huddled in one corner of the huge Belk store (photo above by Terrence Edwards). In front of us was a table full of shoes with our names on it. I got this beautiful snake print sandals from French Connection (photo by Caroline Tan). It was love at first sight!
After that, it was time to reveal the Belk Style challenge of the day! We were then given a $250 budget to shop for an outfit that will not only match our shoes, but it should also be one of the four key Spring Styles (Spare Me, Islander, Garden Party, Sport Chic) and should include one of the “most wanted” I’ve talked about in this post. But that’s not all, we should be done shopping, dressed in our new outfits and makeup done (at the Belk beauty counters), within 30 minutes. Well, it didn’t seem difficult at first, but I was practically running in the last 5-10 minutes! Haha!

I finally settled on this outfit above. It’s a Cloth & Stone white button down shirt, which you may recall was a huge trend during New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer ’15 shows and presentations. It was a last minute choice because I originally picked a floral lace top to go with my floral pants for the “Garden Party” style statement. However, I was over the budget! So I was running to look for a top in the last 10 minutes or so. Luckily I found this top because it’s pretty versatile, no matter what style I wear. The wide leg floral pants are by Ralph Lauren. It’s so gorgeous and also now on sale – if you are in love as I am. I paired it with a Towne & Reese necklace that was given to me previously by Belk. And before the time was over, I had my makeup retouched at the Chanel beauty counter. Whew! In the end, my outfit looked perfect for the “Islander” style statement and my most-wanted were soft pants, an easy-fit top and look at me lips. I enjoyed this Belk Style challenge so much, I wish there were more!

And now, I present to you the cast of the next hit reality TV show… take that Bravo! Just kidding! It was amazing that all bloggers chose different outfits and we got to choose from all the four style statements for Spring. After the challenge, we headed back to our hotel, had lunch and got some rest for the evening’s festivities. Stay tuned for the next recap. Thanks so much to the Belk team for a wonderful morning and for all of the goodies we got to take home. It was such an amazing and memorable experience.
And to all of you my lovely STYLEanthropists, thank you for dropping by. Hope y’all had a wonderful Easter. Xo.
