Today at STYLEanthropy, I’m super excited to finally share with you my CLOFFICE! For those who don’t know, that means closet and an office in one room. It’s becoming more and more common with bloggers – specifically with fashion and/or beauty bloggers – to have a spare room or office converted into a closet AND workspace. After all, as a full-time blogger, this is my business. So it’s only natural that my workspace or office is filled with products that I blog about.
Closet + Office = Cloffice Reveal
My cloffice is where I plan outfits, test looks and beauty products, unbox packages sent to me by brands (as seen in my story highlights on IG), store/organize products that need to be published, take photos, and then do the rest of the blog work in my laptop.
As a full disclosure, over half of the things I own here are sponsored. Just putting it out there so you won’t think I have a shopping problem (also to follow FTC regulations). Haha! Like I said earlier, this is my business.
So I’m just gonna go ahead and share with you these photos of my cloffice. And then tell you more about each corner or why I chose what, and maybe drop some tips here and there below.
Make it pretty and clutter-free
I firmly believe that a pretty and organized space is important when you’re working from home. For me, it helps me focus more with my work when everything is looking pretty and clutter-free. Clutter is a huge distraction for me. So I try my best to keep this room like this all the time – not for the ‘gram but for my peace of mind!
So with the help of Macy’s Backstage, I was able to decorate this space. Have you been to a Macy’s Backstage store yet? I found pretty amazing things at really marked down prices! For one, that pretty rug that has the Boho style that’s trending right now was under $80!
Of course, when I get packages in the mail, this beautiful rug c/o Macy’s Backstage becomes a catch-all for everything! Chaos indeed. But after I do my unboxing videos, I make sure to keep everything where they belong. I have a holding space for products that need to be photographed, and then their respective storage containers for when I’m done blogging about them.
I also found that peace-sign tabletop decor and faux succulent from my recent shopping trip c/o Macy’s Backstage!
I have always wanted to get myself a clothing rack because it just makes my blogging life easier. Back in a smaller space, clothes that get sent to me either end up in a pile of mess or in their boxes… until they all take over our small apartment. If I hang them together with my clothes in the closet, I tend to forget about them until I remember that I need to post about them. And then I have to rush and cram to take pictures in them! With a rack, I am able to see all the clothes that I have to post about and I can carefully plan out when to take photos. But even if you’re not a blogger, a clothing rack is great for outfit planning for the entire week! It will definitely help reduce prep time in the morning before you head to work. This one is from Ikea.
As you can see, I have a lot of my recently posted outfits hanging in my clothing rack. Some, I haven’t posted yet – like the red and purple Free People boho blouses that are also c/o Macy’s Backstage!
BTW, a lot of you asked about my peonies wall decal after posting on my Instagram stories! Aren’t they the prettiest things you’ve seen? I’m linking the exact one I have here. This is the large size with 3 flowers and 13 leaves. You can reuse these peel and stick wall decals. Meaning, you can easily remove and reposition to another area without any problems. They are so easy to remove!
Bookcases for accessories
I love my shoe/bag/accessory/beauty shelf made from Ikea Billy bookcases. It’s not just a display shelf. But again, a way to organize accessories that get sent to me by brands. It helps me see what needs to be photographed and it’s also a great way to organize and store everything!
By the way, you can get my zebra ottoman storage bin here. It’s under $20 and holds a lot. This one holds some sleepwear and robes. While the other two hold joggers, leggings, and pajamas!
I love having that cube shelf under that window. It’s now my photo corner where I take product shots for my blog and social media channels. The shelf also doubles up as extra storage for my sweaters.
The wall of hats
It’s a great way to display your hats so that you can see everything you own. But at the same time, they make a great wall art too! Try it! In case you’re wondering what I used to hang them, I just use the picture hangers with nails in gold like this.
P.S. that gold mirror is just about $6. Whaaaatttt???
Wall Shelves for display and organization
Floating wall shelves have been around for years and I’ve always loved them. They make a pretty display area but are perfect for organizing small items too. For a kitchen, I can see pots of herbs, spices, or coffee, tea, and sugar looking pretty on top of these. But for a closet, they are perfect for makeup and other beauty products!
Don’t be afraid to customize your desk
My desk is made of two office drawers as a base and an Ikea tabletop. I got the larger table top that they have but my husband sawed it to fit this space as if it was a built-in! Love it!
By the way, a lot of you loved this lamp when I showed it on my stories on Instagram because of the built-in wireless charger for your smartphones. So for those who want the direct link, click here. It’s the Hektar work lamp with wireless charging. Just note that if you have a thick phone case like the wallet type case, you might need to take your phone out of the case for it to work. I don’t have a problem with it using an Otterbox case.
Well, that’s it for now. At the time of posting, a few things have already changed. Haha. Well, I just moved the gold holder for my earrings and accessories to the wall on the right side of my desk. This way, the peonies wall is cleaner! I also adjusted the height of my rack a little lower. Another shot for another time. Until the next home reveal!
