Today at STYLEanthropy, I’m sharing this wrap dress outfit inspiration. If you check out style blogs and department store websites, wrap blouses and dresses are trending. So it’s only fitting to share this wrap dress that I wore on Christmas Day, which is also my birthday!
Wrap Dress and Quilted Purse Outfit
I wore this beautiful Diane von Furstenberg wrap dress. I have always dreamed of wearing a DVF dress. But not just any DVF dress that you can find on sale at discount stores or those that go on sale or clearance at her boutique. I wanted THE classic DVF wrap dress, I wanted it in one of her classic prints, but I wanted to get one at a great deal since they cost about $500! I’ve seen my share of sale DVF clothes at different stores. Dresses marked down to $200-$300 and tops or bottoms marked down to $100++. But I never saw a classic DVF wrap dress marked down to the price I got this dress for. Can you guess how much?
I got this Diane von Furstenberg wrap dress, originally $498, for just… wait for it…
…a little over $70 bucks! OH. EM. GEE. It was a dream come true, something to tick off my “closet bucket list“. It has always been in my “CLOSET MUST HAVES”. I was beyond excited when I found my dream dress – the classic wrap dress – in a classic DVF print – for under a hundred bucks. I even saw Diane von Furstenberg wear this print in a top in the last episode of House of DVF!

Who else watched the show? I love it and was so excited when I saw this print worn by DVF herself. I love Diane because of her wisdom and beauty. To me, it was more than just a show about fashion and finding a brand ambassador for DVF. I learned a lot of things watching that show – things like humility, hard work, and more importantly, to keep going even when life throws all sorts of things at you. Life won’t be waiting for you to get organized or be prepared. Life will go on and it will throw things at you even when you’re not ready or not in the mood.
Anyway, you’re probably wondering where I found this dress. I was so happy to have found this wrap dress at Nordstrom Rack at one of my favorite outlet malls – Potomac Mills! I love Potomac Mills because it has all of my favorites discount stores in one. It’s got a Bloomingdale’s Outlet store, Last Call by Neiman Marcus, Saks Off Fifth, Nordstrom Rack, Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, Kate Spade Outlet and more! I found the wrap dress a week before my Christmas birthday and I thought it was just meant to be. It’s not like you can find such great deals everyday. All my years of shopping, this is the first time I found a classic DVF wrap dress for $70+. Even the cashier was shocked and said even at the outlet stores, this dress still costs over $200. So if you want something that’s a little out of your budget, my advice to you is to be patient and always be on the look out for a good deal.
I matched my dress with my new baby, this beautiful Chanel Boy Bag that I’ve been wanting for ages. I was supposed to get it last year for my birthday too, but I had prioritized something else (not a bag). So this year, I thought it was time to splurge. 2014 was a great year, so “Santa” (aka the Husband and I, haha) got me one of my dream bags! I’ll talk more about this bag in another post to help those who are researching for a Chanel bag in their future. For now, here are more photos of the outfit.
It was supposed to snow that day. So while I have my classic suede pumps with me in the car, I decided to wear this lug-soled boots just in case it does. Apparently, it didn’t. But I thought not to change my shoes anymore since it added the tough-girl chic to my look anyway. At the same time, ankle boots always make a look more youthful – something I’d like to embrace on a day I’m turning a year older. Haha! By the way, it was freezing cold that day. But just to show you the beautiful dress, I took off my coat for these photos.
Here’s a closer look at my nails. I used Nails Inc. leather effect nail polish from the Alexa Chung collaboration and used some stars, studs and diamond stickers given to me by KISS Nails. But if you wanna go the easy route and still get the look, I recommend this Kiss Her by Kiss Nail Dress Jeweled strips. The phone case is a gift from Anyshapes.
I wore this outfit to a lunch date on Christmas Day. The Husband made reservations at McCormick & Schmick’s and we shared a delicious steak and lobster, and some scampi pasta over wine. It was a lovely day and I wish it would never end. Hope you had a lovely Christmas, New Year and Holiday season folks. Until next! In case you haven’t, please enter our giveaway with prizes like a Kate Spade tote, Tory Burch earrings, Michael Kors watch and a ton of beauty products as well.
