You know it – Holidays are full of parties after parties. So while I’ve been sharing gift guides and entertaining ideas, today, it’s all about getting ready for the party. I’m sharing 5 tips on how to nail your holiday style!
1. Hair Color Refresh
Have you been taking your hair for granted? Well, let the holidays be the motivation to get a hair color refresh! If you’ve been following me for awhile now, you know that I love my Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color a lot. Ever since discovering it, it has become my go-to hair color brand. It’s so easy to use and the feel of my hair after I color it is amazing. It feels so soft and shiny! I love the Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color line because it covers my growing number of gray hair. Eeeek! Don’t get me wrong, I embrace aging but would like to do so with grace! So thanks to Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color, I’m able to do so!
Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color brings out confidence in every woman by gently restoring and augmenting her hair. Another thing that I love about this brand is that they have a partnership with Dress for Success®. So every purchase, we get to help women get a fresh start. I get mine at Walmart in the hair care/color aisle.
Don’t forget to take advantage of this Try Me Free Rebate offer. You can also earn $2.00 cash back on Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color using the Ibotta app.
Since I have really dark hair, I chose a lighter shade to get something in between. This is the Caramel Blonde 7.5 which should be a nice brown on me. In case you’ve never done at-home hair color, I’m listing down the steps that I follow to ensure a smooth process.
- Before anything else, do a patch test just to make sure you don’t have any allergic reactions, and to see how the color looks on your hair. Always read the instructions and wear your gloves!
- First apply the pre-treatment included in the box.
- Follow the instructions to prepare the color mixture and apply on your hair as directed, leaving it on the recommended time.
- Rinse the hair color and use the conditioner as per instructions. Then you’re done! This is my after hair color. What do you think?
Now, you’re one step closer to nailing your holiday style. What’s next?
2. Makeup Looks
I know not everyone likes to put on makeup. But hey, it’s the holiday season! So whether you like to go au naturale or contour like Kim, a RED lip can take your look from everyday to Holiday! You can go bright or deep red – whatever you feel comfortable in.
Often times, accessories help create the look you’re going for. If it’s a day to day outfit, simple, refined pieces work so well. But when you want to go for something dramatic or special, statement pieces are perfect. It can be a statement necklace or a statement pair of earrings. It can even be as simple as your special-occasion jewelry, an heirloom piece, or a special bag that you love.
4. Do Something Fun with Your Nails
These days, my nails are always bare. Haven’t had the chance to visit the nail salon or do my nails like I used to. But I make sure that on special occasions like the Holidays (my birthday is on Christmas Day), my nails are prim and proper. They just complete the whole look. It feels more special when my nails are clean and manicured too!
Here are some nail designs I’ve done myself in the past. You can DIY it too, or get it done at the salon if you want to make it a day of pampering after some holiday shopping!
5. Festive Outfits
The Holidays is the perfect time to wear something fancy. So go ahead and get that velvet dress, that sequins top, faux fur, or even metallic pants. Here are some holiday outfit ideas that you can try! Click on each photo to get directed to the whole look!
